Peace Out 2016…..Hello 2017

2017 my little word words

2016….I don’t hate ya….but you had to go. 2017 is going to be a great one!

There is something about a brand new year. A clean slate. Yes, each day/week is a clean slate, but a whole new fresh year…nothing better!!

I was going to pick a word for 2017 but honestly I couldn’t narrow it down to just one. There is so much I want to work on and accomplish this year. So I narrowed it down to 5.

I was going to just do the year of ME (so I stuck it in the middle of my collage, lol). But it’s so much more than just me.

Marriage – I have a wonderful marriage, my husband is the best, if I do say so myself. In 5 days it will be 16 years since we met and in 7 days it will be our 16 year dating anniversary. And next month we will celebrate 14 years of marriage. But there is always room for improvement. I think more quality time, not just watching tv or typical dinner/movie/target date nights would be nice. I also want to do some sort of devotional together. I actually think I have a devotional for married couple, just need to find it.

Family – Hubs is included in this one too, but as a whole I want to spend more quality time. My oldest will be 12 in a few months and my youngest 8 in the fall. He’ll be a teenager next year, then start driving, prom, college applications….

Faith – I’m Catholic. We go to mass each week. I listen…I go through the motions, but I need more. I am starting a ‘read the bible in a year’ plan today. I just found a plan online but if you know of a good one let me know and I’ll check it out. Hubs has always been Catholic, but I became Catholic in 2012. I love the structure of it. But I think you can get so used to it you forget the meanings behind the things you do. I know he’s listening all the time, but sometimes I forget that I need to make the time to worship him outside of church. Take the time to really talk to him, pray to him, praise him.

Focus – This was probably the second ranked word on my list. I get distracted very easily….I procrastinate….and I’ll admit it I can be lazy. I really want to focus on this blog, my shop and essential oils education this year. I love all 3 of them and I think this year will be great for them all.

Love all of these!! I am right there with you about faith. I’m Catholic (have been my whole life) too and am hoping to add a daily devotional to my routine. I’m hoping to find a paper one, since I have a feeling if it’s an app or on my computer I’ll be distracted.
